Tour de Taco

Tour de Taco. Bike. Eat. Repeat. September 16, 2017

What is Tour de Taco?

Tour de Taco is a social bicycling event that involves groups of cyclists riding to locally owned restaurants to eat tacos! The goals of the event are to build the confidence of cyclists riding around town, promote safe and responsible riding, increase the visibility of cyclists following the rules of the road, and support local businesses.

Proceeds from the event will go towards Bike BloNo’s advocacy efforts, which are focused on safety and expansion of on-street bike routes in the community.

When is Tour de Taco?

Tour de Taco will be on Saturday, Sept 16, 2017. Check-in starts at 10:00 AM. Opening speakers, followed by a safety briefing, will begin at 11:00 AM. The first pod will be released around 11:15 AM. The "tour" will last approximately five hours (varies by pod; see Pods & Routes below).

Where is Tour de Taco?

Participants will ride a loop that starts and ends in Downtown Bloomington, stopping at restaurants and food trucks stationed at or near the community’s three bike shops. Following the Tour de Taco ride, we will have an after-ride social gathering at an awesome new restaurant in Downtown Bloomington.

Stay tuned for more info on the specific restaurants along the routes!

Pods & Routes

We want everyone to enjoy Tour de Taco, so we are offering ten different pepper-themed pods with varying skill levels and speeds. The majority of pods will stop at 6 taco stops. There are also two 8-stop pods for hungry overachievers, and a 4-stop family-friendly pod that’s ideal for families with children.

We met our registration cap about a week and a half before the event. Sorry to those of you who didn't get in before then, but stay tuned for info about Tour de Taco 2018!
